The Culture oasis idea plan focuses on uniting the wishes of the residents of Matinkylä and the visions of the city of Espoo of what could happen in the Matinniitty area in the near future. The viewpoints are combined with my own analysis of what could be possible.
The area consists of three buildings from different times; One kindergarten, one manor and an old health care center designed by a famous Finnish architect, Timo Suomalainen. The manor and the center have either been empty or in low usage for a while and need new activities to help brighten up the area and make it attractive to the citizens of Matinkylä.
A comprehensive study was made of the wishes of all parties involved and put together as one document. Below is an analysis and the final resolution of the suggested programs for the area. Both the surroundings and the insides of the health center and manor were explored as well. Also, the incorporation of housing was explored. Based on my own analysis it was to respond to the original plans of an add-on structure to the health center.
