The lost landscape. The winter that wasn't.
The Aikakivi (= Time stone) reflects upon the climate crisis and its effects on sea level rise. Should the planet warm up in the same speed as today all the snow would melt in minimum of approximately 100 years. The future generations will lose the understanding of snow and everything connected to it.
Though, between the coastal cities Umeå and Vaasa in the Quark area the land is rising because of glacial isostatic adjustment where there is still 100-150meters yet to rise. Today the highest speed is 10mm/y which at some point slows down. The process will in the end create a land connection between Sweden and Finland, though it takes 10000 years for the land to be in balance again.
The Aikakivi is a measurement of these actions using the nature as a tool of documentation of the time that passes by.
